Midland Make a Difference Scholarships

Midland Credit Union is proud to announce a total of $5,000 in scholarships will be awarded in 2027:

• (2) $500 scholarships for students entering their first year of college or vocational school
• (1) $500 scholarship for students continuing their undergraduate degree or 2^nd year of vocational studies
• (1) $1,000 scholarship for students entering their first year of college or vocational school
• (1) $1,000 scholarship for students continuing their undergraduate degree or 2^nd year of vocational studies
• (1) $1,500 scholarship for students entering their first year of college or vocational school.

Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, room and board, books, and other educational expenses.

Applications will be accepted November 1st, 2026 – February 12th, 2027. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Midland’s Annual Membership Meeting April 21, 2027.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Applicant must be a member of Midland Credit Union or have a parent/guardian who is a member of Midland Credit Union*.
2. Membership Number must be provided on the application of the applicant or parent/guardian.
3. Applicant must be entering or attending a vocational, technical, community college or 4-year college/university.
4. Prior scholarship recipients and family members of Midland Credit Union employees are not eligible.
5. Past recipients are not eligible for renewal scholarship awards.
6. Applicant is required to write an essay of approximately 300-500 words on the following topic:
   
   

“If you were given 1,000 to start a community-betterment project or financial education workshop for your peers, what would it be and why?”

Before completing the form below, please read the instructions carefully. Scholarship submissions will be reviewed anonymously by an independent committee. All information given on this application will be kept confidential. All submissions will be evaluated using AI content screening tools during the review process. Applications consisting primairly of AI-generated text will be disqualified. While AI tools are helpful brainstorming resources, your final essay must be your own original work. We want to hear your authentic voice! Scholarship recipients will be contacted prior to the April 21 Annual Membership Meeting. Recipients will be expected to attend for the check presentation or submit a photo to be used for various electronic media.
